Saltisford Canal Easter Egg Hunt New! Featured
The Saltisford Canal Trust is running a children's Easter Egg Hunt
Admission is free but the Easter Egg Hunt is for children under the age of 11. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The children will search for hidden numbered balls, in our extensive canal side gardens corresponding with Easter Egg prizes.
The egg hunt will commence at 2-30pm prompt on Easter Saturday. There will also be face painting available.
Our Visitor Centre will have refreshments available to buy and our shop will have our new season stock. Lots of new lines including locally made jam and honey from canal side warwickshire hives; exclusive gift boxes of biscuits and confectionery; traditional children's toys, games and puzzles and a new 'pocket money' gift section. We also feature traditional hand painted canal ware, hand made rope fenders, tea towels and unique canal brasses.
Visitors can explore the Saltisford waterside gardens trail, learn more about the history of our local canals and soak up some waterway heritage. Come and join us this March for a seasonal celebration of our wonderful local canal heritage.
The Saltisford Canal Centre is a short walk from Warwick Town Centre; the G1 bus stops outside on the Birmingham Road. There is very limited car parking, but you may be able to park on the adjacent Budbrooke Industrial Estate.
The Saltisford Canal Trust- a registered charity- was set up to restore the canal arm and to promote the use of the canal in Warwick. It does this by having a day hire boat, waterside gardens open free to the public, provides moorings for both visitor boats- over 800 in 2012- and long term moored Narrowboats, and provides a wide range of services including a canal Visitor Centre, laundrette, gift shop, drinking water, electrical hook up, sewage pump-out, rubbish disposal; and promotes knowledge of the historic significance of the canal on Warwick’s development.
