Midwinter Dream
Bridge House Theatre Company Presents Midwinter Dream
A professional production, Bridge House Theatre Company presents their winter version of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream!
Following the success in 2009 of A Christmas Carol (of which the Stratford Herald said: "a joy to watch"), the acclaimed Bridge House Theatre Company team is creating a special winter version of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream!
This production, called Midwinter Dream, will have everything you could possibly want in a Christmas show, and more - magic, an icy Fairy King and Queen, snowy woodland, crazy lovers, and a lot of laughter! The village workmen, led by Bottom, are rehearsing a panto to celebrate the wedding of Theseus and Hippolyta. Bottom is bewitched and turns into an ass with whom Titania, the Fairy Queen, falls in love. The play ends with a magical Christmas wedding.
The production, in a shortened two-hour version of the original play, is suitable for all ages, and is directed by former RSC director Alison Sutcliffe, designed by Judy Reaves, with original music by Corin Buckeridge.
