Warwick Victorian Evening

The Victorian Evening 2011 has proved to be another astounding success. More entertainment, more stalls and, most importantly, more people enjoying four hours of fun and enjoyment. BBC Coventry and Warwickshire once again transmitted the whole event live and even BBC Midlands Today TV came to see that it's not all doom and gloom on the high street and that independant retailers are still providing great products and wonderful service to the people of Warwick and far beyond.

And the winner of the Best Dressed Window is Vintage Antiques.

Well done and thank you to the team that has provided yet another brilliant evening.

Warwick Words 2011

Another superb Warwick Words 2011.
Congratulations to Helen Meeke, Adrian Field and their team for a great 10 days.
We look forward to the programme for 2012.

Warwick Folk Festival

Oh, what a wonderful weekend. One of the best - the best? Brilliant weather, a great atmosphere, loads of people, a marvellous party mood - all the things that Warwick does so well. Our congratulations to Dick Dixon and his team and to our very own Matt Caddick - you have done it again, thank you.

Thai Festival 2011

Another brilliant Thai Festival with thousands of people enjoying delicious food and wonderful entertainment. Well done to Rotary and Matt Caddick for a great day. We look forward to next year.

St. George's Day

A great big Thank You to Matthew Caddick, our Town Centre Manager, for organising a terrific St. Georges Day.

We hope this will become an annual event for it attracted thousands of very happy residents and visitors, and showed what a wonderful town Warwick is!

Gas Mains Replacement Work

Work starts on the Theatre Street phase on 18th July. It is hoped there will be no full road closures although there will be one-way working. All the car parks and the bus station will remain fully operational and the diversion signs will clearly indicate the best alternative routes for town traffic.
The work will continue until October 2011 and then again from February to Easter 2012.
Contact us if you need further information.

Police Budget & Cuts

No surprises! The Chamber predicted years ago that the police station would close and so it will in May. The skeleton staff, of mainly PCSO's, will move to an office elsewhere (Shire Hall?) Long gone are the days when we had two dedicated bobbies on the Warwick town centre beat and yet 30% of our business rates go to the Police! We wonder what exactly we are paying for?!
