November 21, Thursday - Smart Talk: Henry VIII’s State Visit to Warwick talk delivered by Aaron Manning

Newly discovered research reveals the untold story of Henry VIII’s state visit to Warwick in 1511.

Smart Talks are a series of Talks by learned academics, non-academics, and smart people in the five-hundred year old Brethren’s Kitchen or Great Hall – depending on numbers!  Food is prepared by NiCuisine.  The bar is red/white wine and beers.  All of this for the cost of £25 per person per evening (pay on the door)- a portion of which will go to the conservation projects at the Lord Leycester.

The talks will always be on the third Thursday of the month at 7 PM.  So…..same time, same place just a different topic.

December 7th, Saturday - Renaissance Dance.  

Authentic dances from court and country from the time of Robert Dudley, founder of the Lord Leycester Hospital. Entry included with regular Lord Leycester entry ticket or Friends card.  Two dance sessions: one at 12pm, one at 2pm, both in the Great Hall. 

December 20th - Shepherds, Kings and Christmas Punch
A concert of seasonal music with singing in six parts, plus Yuletide refreshments
£10 (under 17's £5).

February 2020 - Friday 14 and Saturday 15 - Court Leet Beer Festival  at the Lord Leycester Hospital, Warwick (Friday 4-10 pm, Saturday 12-10 pm or until dry).  £5 entry tickets brought in advance from 1 January. Tickets available from LLH Ticket Office, Warwick Visitors Centre or online from December 1st on.  An annual beer and cider tasting event with music in the ancient medieval hall where ale and cider has been supped for over 700 years. This is a Fundraising event.
