Welcome to Smart Talks – a series of Talks by learned academics, non-academics, and smart people in the five-hundred year old, Brethren’s Kitchen!

Food is prepared by Nick Doherty of NiCuisine. The bar is help yourself and stocks red/white wine and beers. All of this for the cost of £22 per person per evening - a portion of which will go to the conservation projects at the Lord Leycester. (If you come to all Smart Talks we will give you the twelfth event free! Just keep your receipts.)

The talks will always be held on the third Thursday of the month at 7 PM. So…..same time, same place just a different topic, different month. Here are the schedule talks presented over the next few months:


18 Apr - Smart Talk 7 PM, The Lost Village of Billesley from the Celts to 21st Century, Alan Bailey. This examines the development of the Warwickshire Village of Billesley, significance as a Roman settlement and the finding of the Billesley Hoard.

16 May – Smart Talk  7 PM, Tsars, Sultans and Emperors, Adam Busiakiewicz
The extraordinary Grand Tour of Lord Brooke, 1801-1803.  In 1801 the twenty-two year old eldest son of the Earl of Warwick embarked on an extraordinary adventure. Henry Richard Greville (1779-1853), Lord Brooke and later the 3rd Earl of Warwick, spent nearly three years travelling to the further parts of Europe on his Grand Tour.
